We study the interaction of a V-type atom in cavity with incident single- and two-photon wavepackets derive an exact formula, valid all parameter regimes, relating spectrum outgoing to one. present detailed results for several special input pulses consider potential performance system as CPHASE gate initial product state. find values cavity, atomic, pulse parameters that yield conditional phase shift π, albeit relatively small overlap between incoming forms.
